💪STRENGTH 💪 The tarot of patience and virtue is based on my 87 year old friend Dolores. The Strength Tarot card is often associated with a woman who gently pats a lion on its forehead. The woman gazes down at the lion with a peaceful smile on her face and appears to be successfully taming this wild beast. In my version I have given Dolores a two headed lion to represent her two husbands who have passed.

Growing up one of my reliefs from the banality of the suburbs was to tune into 120 Minutes on Sunday nights. Here I was turned onto The Cure, The Smiths and Depeche Mode.

Depeche Mode would always inspire me with the way they would softly transgress social norms. Using the song "Strangelove" I begin imagining a "cat of nine tails" to form the words of a intertwining and complex love.

Salome was the daughter of Herod II and Herodias. According to the New Testament, the daughter of Herodias demanded and received the head of John the Baptist. She is the the inspiration of the Queen of Swords in my upcoming tarot deck.
